I was stationed in Darmstadt, with the USAF Security Service. I had excellent friends in the Army's ASA in Frankfurt. Those friends lived here in from 1969-71. People like Ken Wissler, now deceased; Jim Ryan and Tom May. Friends I always hope to be with in this life and after. I visited Gibbs and remember it full of life.

I am a family genealogist and am looking for any information about Benjamin A. Hook who may have been stationed at Gibbs as an MP probably in the late 60's. Thanks for any help.

I was at Gibbs '71-'73 with both HHC V Corps and COSCOM. I started with the the PSNCO's office and then I clerked for both the MET and MAIT teams as they evolved during that time. It is so sad to see the condition of the barracks facility in the pictures now. I remember good times and good friends: Stoner, Webster from NY, Wilson from Reno, Kuge outa Memphis, Mouse (damn, I thought it was Paul Simon), and that speed freak we went to visit in Florida after discharge. What a crew!

I was stationed at GIBBS from June 1958 until May 1960 with the "7772" Signal Support Co.. Worked out of the IG Farben Bldg. as a Telephone Installer (323.2). Got some great "bratwurst and flip top "Binding Bier" at the IMBIS across the street from the main gate. Was back two years ago to visit.....re-live old memories. Yes! Spent much time in "Fredies Bier Bar" at Frieberger Warte! A long time ago!

My mother was in the 7772 Signal corp from maybe 1950-52. What exactly did the signal corp do during that time? I will check back to see if this is answered. She was also stationed in Heidleburg sometime during that time. Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

HI
Does anyone have a copy of the HillBilly Heaven song that woke us up every morning before we flipped the top on the bottle of binding bier next to our bed?
I was in 7772 Gibbs Kaserne. We did many telephonic things. Mucho Mucho secret. Remember this was before computors. We were stationed at Gibbs kaserne and all around Europe. Our front was that made up the telephone books for all Europe and we did do this. But we also channeled telephoic secret info in and out of Europe.
It was a great unit. We never had to go to the field. On call outs every month or so, we just drove in our ford telephone trucks. We drove them all over. To the IG Farben bldg. and also to the Dolly Bar and Kaiser strasse, and Sachsenhausen. We had emergency call outs all over, so we had no problem in leaving the Kaserne at
2 3 in the morning. Yes many times it was just to pick up the boys who had stayed up too late and needed a ride back into the Kaserne. Yes, at Gibbs Kaserne we all looked out for one another.

I'm still in touch with Pat Bleske in Watertown, Wisconsin (He is Mayor there.) And with Gordon Sledge Slaughter. He owns an OIL contract in Pennsylvania and has a winter house in Florida (Mucho $$$$$). Rischard Blair got married again and still lives in Augsburg Germany with 5 kids.

I booked old Ward our mail man into the Long Beach, Ca. Jail for Commercial burglary about 35 years ago. I know five of our guys that passed away due to Cancer, Heart Problems. We had one guy get a long sentence in West Virginia for Rape.
Thats enough for now. I'm a retired Police Officer Sgt., Crime lab director, ex-hi school teacher, and presently Criminal Defense Investigator. Yep, I used to put them in, Now I try and keep them out. I love my country.

To Joe Polyak. Hi I remember you. I was at the other end of our floor by the guy that took care of our clothes.
I was also at our sub station ware house by 5 mark circle. You can call me collect any time you want at 714-9624869. Do you remember Pat Bleske, Gordon Slaughter, Byron Stein?
I've been back a few times. I was there from 1958 to 1960. Got married to an Airline Stewardess from FinnAir in Oct 1960. Just celebrated out 50th.
Call me. (MR Q)

I was in the third building on the right from the front gate, on the top floor. I was a Calibration Specialist. I bet a lot of people that knew me then wonder if I am still alive. I was having trouble with drinking to the point that I was discharged on a Chapter 9.
I'm happy to say my life has turned around for the better, mainly because I was able to put that stuff down & be ME!
We had some fun times when I was there & I often wished there was a way to meet up the other people I became friends with while there.

I was at Gibbs from Dec. 1978 to June 1981 and was in HHC V Corps. What an amazing experience to have had! Wow, the photos made me feel sad as I realize now that my memories and those of all who came before and after me, are of a time and place that will never be again!
