I was stationed at Rose Barracks from 79 to 83. I would love to see more pictures from the area.
I still live in BK and very proud to have served in 1AD from 93-97 when I got out. As they have torn down most of the post over the years I have been able to get some of the old street stones which I am using at y house for a walkway. My son trains at the gym which I used to play racketball in and has been renovated into the German trampoline training camp. It was a beautiful post with a lot of history. Sad to see it torn down.

I was stationed in BK from 1976-1980 - happiest time of my life.
I was stationed in BK Rose Kasern and in the 8th S&T in the next fence... I loved running the streets at all hours of the morning and then again that night for dining and just having a good time... Was there from March 81 till June 84. I remember it being a very clean and friendly town. So go the days of our lives... :)
Stationed there (BK) 54-56 HDQ 2nd Armored Div.
I think the 141st Signal was stationed at Baumholder.
I was stationed on Rose Barracks 1980 to 1983. I was assigned to 8th Signal and really enjoyed being in BK. I met the love of my life there and we are thinking we may retire there in a few years. I look forward to being back in BK.

I was stationed on Rose Barracks from 1984 to 1987 with the 8th Signal Battalion. Bitter sweet memories in a city that's quaint but beautiful.
Loads of knee pad, brown nosing, butt kissing, but the training was tough. None the less, it's all in the books.
I was in BK Rose Barracks 8th Admin Co, May 66 to Oct 67. Worked in tin shack as team leader. Had a GREAT time, made great memories as a young solder. Loved the town, food, beer &" Gripos". Would like to visit some day. I do remember woking with Nick Ganci.
I was stationed at Rose Barracks from 1955 through 1956 with the 142nd Armored Signal Co. Would be very interested in hearing from anyone there at that time.
Also, does anyone remember the CapriBar.
I lived in BK with my then husband from 73-74. He was with 8th signal div.. company A. Sooo many good memories. He has since passed away, but I remember walking to the base from our tiny apt on Baumgarten Strasse many times. I was so young back then, and only now truly appreciate the fact I got to live in Germany. If there is anyone out there who was at Rose Barracks back then, and with Company A, please leave a note. Its been so many years. My husbands name was Mike Stone. Thanks!
Any chance you knew a Raymond Smith?
never was stationed at Rose barracks but my band played in the NCO club there many times from 1972 - 1982. I always enjoyed our gigs there. Would often go early and spend the day looking around, eating in the local restaurants and seeing the beauty of the area. It was one of my very favorites clubs to play ... and my band played in just about every NCO Club south of Fulda and west of Stuttgart. Great memories from there!

Bad Kreuznach was my first duty assignment, there at the 225th Station Hospital from mid 91 to mid 93... great times. It is sad the see it changing so much. Learned a lot about life there, learned to enjoy it more. Still serving after all these years, not much came close to being as enjoyable as BK. Bangkok was pretty awesome, though :D
I just discovered that I was born at the Kaserne Hospital in 1948. We immigrated to the US in 1949. My parents, Holocaust survivors were living in the American camp for DP's a camp in(Bad Kreuznach, Bamberg, Germany. I am writing a book based on their experiences. My husband, I, and our daughter were stationed in BK from 1978 to 1984. We lived in the French Quarters right next to the grave yard. BK is a beautiful town. I am sad to see the barracks in shambles like that. The palace was always pristine during our time there. My husband was with the 8th Signal Battalion, SMG Robert McMillion, our daughter's name is Connie, she used to work in the PX at Rose. Greetings to all out there, Mrs. Mac

In '61 transferred from 82nd Airborne to the HQ Company for 8th Division. We were the HQ signal support for the paratroopers stationed at Wiesbaden.
A week or so after I got there the US forces made a convoy to Berlin to keep the road open. We were supposed to make that trip but they decided to go ahead with long planned maneuvers in the British Zone near Cologne.
Spent a month in Denmark with Danish forces. Two weeks at a French Artillery post near Pau for some major maneuvers, plus 4/5 days each way in a convoy. We convoyed down with six or seven trucks.
I have some pictures somewhere.
I really enjoyed hiking the hills around Bad Kreuznach. It was a beautiful, friendly city.

My name is Larry Vosen, and I worked in the Finance Department of the 8th Abn Inf for 11 months (66-67) before being transferred to Vietnam... Loved my time in BK; very beautiful place. Can anyone recall the name of the Italian Restaurant that served the world's best Lasagna and Pizza? The place wasn't far from the main gate - turning left out the gate, crossing the street and going up an alley for 3 or so blocks. I still compare all Lasagna with the servings of this place, and NONE come close! 2nd place of interest is the hangout frequented by the finance department on the outskirts of downtown. I'm praying to go back sometime soon, and would love to visit these joints again, if they remain.
I was stationed in BK from Oct 1991 to July 1994, arrived with my wife and three boys, left with four boys and one on the way, must have been the water, looking back, my wife and I agree, some of the best years of our 30 years of marriage, my # 4 son born at St Marion worth german hospital, 141st signal alpha company 1st platoon, so sad to here that it is gone,

Lived in BK 85 assigned to 8th ID Hqs. Lovely town, lovely Nahe wine, did I mention the wine? Wife and dog loved the place, left to go to Mannheim, missed BK a lot. Visited back in 98 for a couple of hours, it had changed a lot by then, I guess it is just a memory now as far as the American presence there.

I lived in the French Quarters with Mom and Dad about 1967-1971. I was 4-8 years old. Went to kindergarten through 2nd grade in BK. I wonder what it would look like now? Probably nothing like I'd remember. I remember the walnut tree, the sandboxes, the candy shop on the corner, the park down the street and many of the kids I played with. I don't remember much before this, it's kind of where my life started.

Interesting time of our lives. I lived in Bad Kreuznach from 1955 - 1957 as an Army Brat. I would love to revisit Germany again soon, but I bet I would hardly recognize the B.K. Kaserne. But it would still be great to go back. In 1955, We traveled to Germany from New York on a Sea Board and Western - Supper Constellation ,, you could see blue flames coming out of the manifolds at night.... Turbo-Prop.
....Flew into Rhine - Main -- Frankfort. stop over in Newfoundland.
We took our new 1955 Mercury Monterey. (shipped over).
Great experiences.....never forgotten.
Army brat. Lived in Bad Kreuznach 70-72 with family. Dad was Mike Fayard, MSG/1SG, A company 8th Sig Bn. Good memories and good friends. CO was CPT Cotting.
I was born here, an army brat to 1st Sargent Ward Simmons and Elaine Simmons we are a family of 6 kids and traveled so much while my father was in the army. Anyone know or remember him. I sure don't. When he got out after 25 years, he lost all control of his life, left us and I never saw him again. That was in 1978. He passed away in Texas in 2011.
Hey, I lived in BK from 1990 to 1994 but I was not in the army. Fond memories of the times when there's a big clientele of army people coming to the Blue Ice cream Parlor I used to worked in. Anyone remember? Anyway, met some good people that invited me to the Barracks a few times for a game of baseball and a burger (with refills just like in the US! ). Some of the the folks that came often to get ice cream were from Eugene Oregon but I lost contact... Too bad I was so busy, would have loved to keep in touch. Lucas (the English speaking employee at the Blue Ice cream Parlor).
Was in BK HQ. 8th Signal .. lst assignment as a WO. Motor Maintenance Officer from Nov. 61- June 62. In Worms, Germany before that with 48th Inf... Both great places to be stationed. Have been back a few times over the years.. Not quite the same.. Was also licensed as an amateur radio operator callsign DL4AT.. Club call, I believe was DL4KR. H.Hutchinson
At BK '69-71, 8th Military Intelligence. Also did some time in Baumholder. Yes, BK is much nicer, great place, great memories. Pop's Stadt Haus for great food! Wonderful place in and of itself, but also beat the alternative assignment in SE Asia at that time.
What an awesome place to live I was there in 1985-1987 was a CPL/E4 in the 68th Chem Co 54Echo at Hospital Kaserne so beautiful country had fond memories there. Very sad to it gone. We used to work hard and part harder would take a taxi to downtown and grab food then go to Hard rock an upstairs bar there until it closed at 2:00am was a virgin when I got To BK but that changed quickly as there are such beautiful women there it amazes me. And then we would wonder around town finally getting back to our barracks before time to get up for PT and first formation. Would love to meet anyone else there during my time.
I hope to go back and take my family there sometime. My name is Jerry W. Mossor.

I was stationed at Rose Barracks in 1978. Work at the headquarters building. Remember having to run up stairs from the first floor to the other end of the second to use the toilet! Different world. Different times.
I was an Army Brat and lived in BK in 55-57. Looking on Google Maps, its hard to see the old Rose Barracks ... Is John F Kennedy road neat the old base (which is probably all gone now). We used to walk up to Koberg Hill.
I was at Rose Barrack/Foch Kaserne during the perod 1953 to 1957.
Originally arrived as an E-nobody, 502 Replacement Co.
Went from there to Hq Co, 2d AD.
Meet my wife at the Capri and our first child was born in Military Hospital.
We have been married 60+ years.
I've returned a time or two and have been just sick at my stomach to view the despair of the dear old barracks. Windows boarded up, grass 2+foot hi, etc.
BK and it's people have changed considerably since we left there.
With COVID-19 and our advanced age, we probably will never be able to return to BK.
Bing
I went on from 2d AD to serve a total of 22+ years in Army and USAF.
Wish I could do it again.
