Thanks for posting some photos of Hanau High and New Argonner. I was an original student of that school in Jan 1975. Wow does the time fly. My dad was stationed there in the mid70's... my Junior High years. It was a great place to be. In my time the Argonner buildings, I think all buildings where just plain white and I don't remember any gate for housing at either of the Argonner's or Sportsfield or Pioneer housing for that matter. I thought I had read in 2008 when the last HH class graduated a German trade school was going to take over the building. I guess it didn't happen.

I hope you have a chance to go to the other Kaserne's. I'd particularly enjoy seeing some photos of Fliegerhorst. I read somewhere they are going to turn that area into an amusement park?

It's really a great site you have here. I also enjoyed seeing some of the other photos you have of bases we passed through for shopping or school activities. Mainly Hutier, Cardwell, Rhine-main, Frankfurt.

I was a student at HHS as well in the late 80's and early 90's. I came back in the late 90's, married with kids and lived on Fliegerhorst.

It's sad to see these photos, but thanks for posting... are you going back again?

Thank you for your comment.

I am planning to complete the tour of all former Hanau installations in the near future.

Unfortunately, access is restricted and I can only take pictures from outside perimeter. Hope, though, will be sufficient to bring you nice memories.

Hello. I just found your website and was very happy and sad at the same time to see the pictures you have posted. I was wondering if you are going to take more pictures of the Hanau area especially of Francois Kaserne and the other Kasernes on Lamboy Strausse, Like Hutier Kaserne and Hessen Homburg Kaserne and Yorkoff Kaserne. Hope you do soon and thanks for hte pics and memories.

I just found your blog. I lived in New Argonner from 1969-1973. Graduated from FAHS. What times we had. It is so sad to see the pictures of the unoccupied bldgs. But boy the memories, I really grew up there. 9th-12th grade. AYA dances, cheerleading, just hanging out. Walking to Pioneer Kaserne to go to the movies, the totto lotto man and the CANDY. Miss it so much.

My son and I just visited New Argonner, Bldg. 209, #24 which is in renovation. Due to lack of OSHA rules, we went inside to 4th floor to check out our old apt. The floor plan is changed, balconies are added to front and back, everything looks so nice. Too bad it didn't look like that in '77-'79! Nice to know others are nostalgic like me.

Wow... things sure have changed since I spent my entire Junior High school years at Argonner middle school (1972-1974). Sure wish I kept in touch with my friends there. I'm terrytheterrifyc on Facebook send me an e-mail there and I'll drag out my old yearbooks before I add you as a friend.

Thank you so very much for posting these pictures and nice blog.

Whoever can help with history of Camp Eschborn, please add your memories of the place as it used to be in the 70's through 90's.
